Bookmark

While actually being too Chrissie-busy for cardmaking I had to do a quicky on a bookmark for my Teenie-Godchild yesterday because it's her birthday.

Of course I took the chance to join a few challenges with it. Also a very good choice if you do not know what colours or layouts to choose...

So I took the layout of Mojo Monday and the colours of Colour Create.

And this is the outcome:

Fav Xmas Song

Done a new card - had to do some really good thinking before I even started. Why? Because I found a very challenging Candy Blog Hop on Creative Friday. And the subject just screamed for me trying. Just love it! Great idea!!!

So the challenge is to put you favourite Christmas Song into

a card. Not with some doodeloo but create it out of paper and stuff.

And of course I refuse to do the easy option and choose a song because I do have the gimmiks that match it (snowflakes, a Santa-slide...) - I really wanted to bring my fav Christmas Song on the card. So now, take a guess what it is (find the answer on the very bottom).

Please excuse the extended shadows. Sun was shining brightly. And the colours came out brillantly this way I think. I usually take my pictures late at night... ;)

Anyway, since this is me I took a few other challenges with it. But only very few this time:

I decided to take the sketch from Night Shift Stamping (although this wasn't a nightshift for a change ;)) but since I do not have any old lace I had to sort of fake some with the only border punch I own - hope that is okay) and chose the colours of Stempelträume which are red and green - obviously.

(The song is "All I want for Christmas" and I only love it because I am a "Love...actually" addict - have to keep watching it once Christmas scent is in the air. I am happy it's not the Coke truck add song anymore. Or "Last Christmas"... ;))

Yummy card

Yesterday I spent my eve working on my first packaging-card-combination.

It does not look quite as yummy as it was supposed to and by now I have a completely different idea - I just do not have the time to put it into the challenges. But hey, might make it anyway and post it then. Does not always have to be a challenge involved, does it?

Initially inspired by the challenge of Everybody Art which wanted to see some "Gingerbread" I made the traditional Gingerbread house - just without Hänsel and Gretel... Watch out, witch behind the door... ;)

It would also match the theme of Creative Friday coz they asked for an "unusual card form" but - as we all know - I have to miss one and this is it.

But the challenge of Kreative Stempelfreunde is about general "packing" and that makes up for the missed one.

The colours are from Paperminutes: mint, turquoise and brown (I had to add some white of course)

Ooops, does not look like a witch - but like the second reason to choose this form: It allows me to put 4 tealights in and a "tealight packing" is what Cards & More wants for their challenge.

The amount of 4 candles makes them "advent" candles which provided the theme - and the reason to also join the challenge of Irish Teddys.

Now I guess those are enough challenges for now. But it was fun to join so many of them in one card...

So with this I wish everyone a very happy advent time. Don't forget to light the candles!
